Position Description:
The HR Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across key Human Resources functions, with a primary focus on onboarding, pre-employment processing, and HR shared services. This role is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring compliance with hiring requirements for both DOT and non-DOT positions, supporting unemployment claims administration, maintaining standard operating procedures, and assisting with HR projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders and maintaining confidentiality.
Job Responsibilities:
- Onboarding Support
- Manage the full-cycle onboarding process, including screening, and onboarding candidates by processing all pre-employment activities including background and drug screens for DOT and Non-DOT applicants.
- Ensuring SOPs are created and maintained to be up to date.
- Coordinate employee training session for onboarding process and collect feedback to measure effectiveness.
- HR Shared Services
- Support ad-hoc HR activities, projects, and initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-function teams to execute special projects and ensure successful outcomes.
- Serve as the backup to HR Coordinator I, providing coverage and support in their absence.
- Assist with the administration of unemployment claims by processing claims within the unemployment management system, gathering supporting documentation, and coordinating with Field HR Managers to ensure timely and accurate claim responses.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience required.
- Experience supporting DOT-regulated positions and knowledge of DOT hiring requirements is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and employee benefits required.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information required.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate complex organizational dynamics and build relationships across all levels.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel may be required to support recruitment activities, training, or organizational events.
