Position Description:
The Manager, HR Compliance, plays a critical role in ensuring GameStop's adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations. This role proactively identifies compliance requirements, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and leads compliance-related initiatives. Additionally, the Manager, HR Compliance develops and delivers training programs to keep management informed on compliance matters. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in the details, can build and scale a thoughtful compliance program, and develops a small team through close partnership, real-time coaching, and shared execution. This position operates with a high level of autonomy, requiring strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at managing cross-functional partnerships to drive compliance excellence.
This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with multi‑state labor laws across all 50 states and maintain awareness of regulatory changes.
- Develop, update, and maintain HR compliance policies, SOPs, and multi-state employee handbooks.
- Conduct ongoing compliance audits, analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage unemployment claim processes, including responses and hearings.
- Oversee compliance with predictable/predictive scheduling and pay laws; train leaders on requirements and penalty avoidance.
- Maintain and monitor federal, state, and local labor poster compliance.
- Review and analyze compliance related data using Excel and HR systems.
- Support or manage I-9 and immigration compliance processes (highly preferred experience).
- Partner with HR, Legal, and Operations to provide guidance, mitigate risk, and improve compliance practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 6+ years of HR Compliance, Employee Relations, or related experience.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience with a hands-on approach to developing and supporting a small team, providing real-time coaching, and working alongside team members while building and scaling a compliance program.
- Strong working knowledge of multi‑state labor laws across all 50 states.
- Demonstrated experience writing compliance policies and managing multi‑state handbooks.
- Experience conducting compliance audits and implementing corrective action plans.
- Knowledge of unemployment processes, including claims management.
- Expertise in predictable/predictive scheduling laws with the ability to train and support leaders.
- Understanding of labor poster compliance and jurisdictional requirements.
- Knowledge of UKG Pro integrations and workflows.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting tools).
- Immigration compliance experience (I‑9, audits, visa processes) highly preferred.
- Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, multi‑state environment.
