HRSouthwest Conference Scholarship

 


This scholarship sends at least two recipients to The HRSouthwest Conference (HRSWC), powered by DallasHR, by covering the cost of the registration and parking (if applicable).

HRSWC is recognized as one of the largest regional human resources events in the United States, and offers educational sessions with nationally renowned keynote speakers. For more information on programming, visit the conference website here.


What you’ll get

  • Full conference registration (usually $1,000-1,300)
  • Meals and parking covered
  • Access to sessions led by industry experts
  • Networking with professionals across the region


What you’ll need to become eligible

  • Students must be taking at least 6 credit hours at the time of the conference to be eligible (Date).
  • Students must be a member of a collegiate SHRM chapter, local SHRM chapter, or SHRM national.
  • Personal statement: (500 words): How would this scholarship help you and what do you hope to gain?

Next Gen Scholarship

This is an exceptional opportunity for HR professionals who are committed to enriching their knowledge of human resources and their passion for sharing that knowledge while putting it into practice to benefit employers and the current & future generations.

What you'll get

  • $1,500 direct award to be applied towards tuition, fees, and/or books for the upcoming Spring academic year.

  • Recognition at FWHR Awards Night


What you’ll need to become eligible

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate program, preferably Human Resources or related, at an accredited and approved college or university. Part-time graduate students accepted.
  • Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • FWHR student member preferred
  • Students must not be graduating prior to the spring of their application.
  • Personal statement (300 words): Why HR, and what impact do you want to make?
  • Interest statement (300 words): How would this scholarship help you in pursuing your education?

Our Awards Committee reviews every application and selects recipients based on merit and need.

3) We Celebrate You

Recipients are announced and celebrated at the FWHR Awards Night.

(Please note: The HR Southwest Award will be announced earlier).

FAQ

Can I apply for both scholarships?
No, you can apply for one. Choose the one that best matches your situation and goals.

What if I'm not a student? Can I apply for NextGen?
NextGen HR requires current enrollment in an HR degree or certificate program. If you're an emerging professional, HRSouthwest Conference Scholarship is for you.

When do applications open?
July 15, 2026. Applications close September 15.

Do I need to be an FWHR member to apply?
No. All scholarships are open to the broader Fort Worth HR community.

What happens if I don't win?
We celebrate recipients at Awards Night, but all applicants are part of the community conversation. Consider applying next year or reach out about membership and involvement opportunities.
