Greetings Prospective PEG Member!
My name is Cara and I am the current leader of the Recruiting PEG. I have been involved with the Recruiting PEG since 2018 and took it over in mid 2019. My goal is provide you with relevant topics, insightful conversation, and meaningful relationships. This year will include topics such as employee resource groups, building a team culture, improving the candidate experience, working with universities, how to choose an HR system, and how benefits can be used to recruit and retain. |This PEG meets monthly to discuss relevant, current topics as it relates to the world of compensation and benefits. We are a group of HR professionals of different levels of experience and diverse backgrounds. Topics include FMLA, pay practices and policies, benefits administration and more!|
|Generalist:||This PEG seeks to add variety with meetings hosted every other month at alternating locations by alternating leaders. Whether you are a generalist or manager in the HR department or you are the HR department, we will discuss relevant and current topics as it relates to HR practices. Topics will include the realm of HR competencies, trending practices, hot news to know and open floor discussions.
|Non-Profit:||This PEG meets every other month to discuss and share topics, vendors, HR principals, staffing issues, policies, and procedures as they relate specifically to non-profits. We are a group of HR professionals in the for profit and non-profit areas. In addition to sharing, our agenda regularly includes a subject matter expert or presentation by a sponsoring agency highlighting their volunteer programs and needs.|
|Recruiting:||This PEG discusses recruiting best practices, challenges, and the latest trends in both agency and corporate environments. Meetings include a variety of topics: sourcing strategies, candidate and hiring manager experiences, employer branding, social media recruiting, leveraging technology to source candidates, salary negotiations, and much more!|
This PEG’s mission is to be a conduit between the broader community and membership of FWHR on issues around inclusion and diversity. It has the vision of creating a ripple effect within Fort Worth to build a welcoming business community that values a diverse workplace as part of achieving overall organizational success. Meets on the last Thursday from January through October, November will meet on the 3rd Thursday. No meeting will be held in December. Meetings are from 3-5 pm and will take place in the Grapevine and HEB area.
Meets on the 2nd Thursday of April, June, August, and October, from 3-5 pm. Meetings will take place at the Blue Mesa (612 Carroll Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107).
Meets on the 1st Thursday of every month from 12-1 pm. Meetings are held at MedStar Mobile Healthcare (2900 Alta Mere Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76107).
Compensation & Benefits PEG:
First meeting in 2020 is on February 12th; remaining meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12-1 pm. Meeting locations vary.
