In this newsletter, the last issue of the first year, we'll take a quick look back. FWHR is positioned to have a prosperous 2020 because of the many accomplishments and highlights we had in 2019. We had tremendous legal hours and luncheons, including those in January and February with Mayor Betsy Price and heartwarming stories. We made numerous changes to the website to better reflect the services and benefits we offer. We received SHRM's Excel Platinum Award for the third consecutive year. Amongst our other mixers, we had our first joint Metro Area Mixer with North Texas, Mid-Cities and Dallas SHRM chapters. Alongside our 10th and 20th TSM and ELU conferences, we developed our new Awards Night celebration that recognizes our perennial awards and the HR community. And at the end of the year, on December 19, we welcomed the kids from Diamond Hill Elementary and all of the December Holiday Luncheon attendees that were there to support them. There were so many activities that we had, and all of them because we worked hard and willed them to happen with careful planning and effort. At the December Holiday luncheon I cited the African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." This year we most certainly went far. I'd like to thank the board, our chapter management professional team and our accountant for a successful year. To the numerous other volunteers that keep FWHR up and running - PEG leaders, speakers, MCs, gift runners, registration and ticket table helpers, those that made donations throughout the year to Diamond Hill Elementary and everyone in between - you deserve endless gratitude and praise. Indeed, if you're any part of the organization, you make it work, you make it all possible. Happy Holidays!

December Holiday Luncheon
Fort Worth HR's most anticipated event of the year took place on Thursday, December 19th. Our annual December Holiday Luncheon at Ridglea Country Club was hosted by everyone's favorite duo, Brad and Jesse.
Diamond Hill Elementary were the star guests at the luncheon. Several students and staff expressed how much FWHR's support has helped the schools choir and sports programs.
All proceeds of the raffle and luncheon went directly to Diamond Hill Elementary to support future opportunities for students to learn and grow. Thanks to all who came to support a great cause and celebrate a fulfilled year with Fort Worth HR!

Spring 2020 S/PHR Prep Classes
Sarah Haskins, SPHR, shared her thoughts on how the Fort Worth HR S/PHR prep class helped her.
"The S/PHR Prep Class provided by FWHR helped me prepare for the exam by giving an outline of each category with in-depth details of what to expect in the exam and the schedule provided me the accountability to stay on track with my studying. The teachers were phenomenal in answering questions, not only about the content of the exam, but in finding out details of what to expect in the testing process. I highly recommend this class if you are seeking to test for your exam!"
The next S/PHR prep class will begin on February 25th! Be sure to sign up ASAP because spots are limited to the first 30 registrants! Which certification is right for you? What materials do the courses use? How do I apply for a scholarship? For the answers to all of your questions and to hear more testimonials from past students, click here.
