Topic:    The 7 Deadly Sins of Retaliation

Speaker: Terri Swain
Founder and Managing Partner of The HR Consultant

Retaliation is the #1 filed charge with the EEOC and the #1 category for “cause” findings.  So often the original allegations held no merit, yet the retaliation case is strong.  While it is human nature to want to “get rid” of the complaining employee, it’s a huge risk area for employers. This session will define retaliation, give information about mitigating claims and provide some common sense advice for your squeaky wheel employee (yes! we all have them).  We will specifically be speaking about EEOC retaliation, but these same theories can be applied to other types of retaliation statutes.

Why should you join the prep class of 2020?  We will let our previous attendees speak to this question...

"The class and a lot of studying were essential to tackling the exam. Having a class to attend each week helped me to stay personally accountable and on track. Getting to interact with other talented and motivated professionals was a great bonus!"

- Diana Simeroth, SPHR

"I took the SPHR on Friday evening and PASSED!  Couldn't have done it without the class and lots of studying.  Overall, I felt very prepared going in.  This class was literally a game changer and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about taking the PHR or SPHR.  I took the PHR exam in June 2018 and failed, so this class definitely helped me pass!"

- Sarah Marshall

Diamond Hill Elementary

2019 was a great year for Fort Worth HR and we capped it off once again by welcoming Diamond Hill Elementary to come sing for us at the Ridglea Country Club for our December Holiday Luncheon.  We have supported DHE for several years and every December their choir, the Singing Eagles, come to sing for our attendees to spread cheer and good spirits. Words cannot fully express the thanks we feel for your continued support in donating items for our holiday raffle in which all the proceeds go to DHE.

Last month we raised $3,741 at the Holiday Luncheon, which brought our total donation for the year to $4,729! Huge thank you to our Fort Worth HR members and guests. Without you, none of this is possible. We know the kids of Diamond Hill Elementary will be ecstatic that we can present them with another generous gift this year! Thank you all for being so generous throughout the year and may we all have continued success in 2020!

Jason Zantjer -Community Relations Director

"The speakers were great. From the legal update I learned a lot about how to improve listening skills and remain open minded rather than leading a conversation, even when it wasn’t intended." - Brad Coleman
