Through Personal Challenges

Beth Jones addresses one of the most common, but least discussed leadership challenges: how personal stress activates survival patterns that reshape how leaders make decisions, communicate, and build trust — often without their awareness. Drawing from 30 years of leading teams through high-pressure environments at firms such as FTI Consulting and EY, and from her experience of leading 125 people while her own personal world collapsed, Beth introduces a practical framework for understanding how survival-driven behaviors — control, compartmentalization, overperformance, emotional distance — intensify under personal strain and begin shaping leadership in ways that erode trust, strain relationships, and undermine the very performance they're designed to protect. HR professionals leave with a behavioral lens on why their highest performers are running on empty and calling it excellence, an integration strategy that replaces "leave your personal life at the door," and practical tools for building cultures that retain leaders through the personal disruptions that are statistically inevitable in any workforce.

Refund Policy

Cancellation requests must be made in writing and submitted to info@fwhr.org.
Cancellation requests made 10+ days in advance are eligible for a full refund less a 10% processing fee.
Cancellation requests made with less than 10 days notice are eligible for a 70% refund to help offset costs already incurred for the event.
A substitute may attend if notice is received at least 48 hours in advance.

By attending an event affiliated with Fort Worth HR (“FWHR”), attendees consent and agree to being photographed and/or videoed. Attendees agree to allow FWHR to use, publish, and distribute their names, pictures, images, and voices (herein the “Materials”) for illustration, training, and/or marketing of FWHR, in any and all forms of media, including but not limited to FWHR’s website, Facebook and LinkedIn. Attendees waive any right to review or approve any use of the Materials, any written copy, or any finished product. Attendees will not receive any compensation or payment for FWHR’s use of the Materials and waive any rights, claims, or interest in the Materials.
