2021-2022 FWHR President
Laura Bustamante

Laura Bustamante holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of North Texas. She joined Ag Resource Management as VP of HR in August of 2021, after working in healthcare for 14+ years. Laura oversees all aspects of the HR function at ARM, including performance management, employee relations, benefits, compensation, talent acquisition and professional development.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. Laura is married to her high school sweetheart and has three boys, Landon, Asher and Anderson, all who keep her very busy! She enjoys attending all their sporting events and is also very involved in activities within their schools. 

Laura is the current President for Fort Worth HR, and the Lone Star Elementary PTA, and also involved in other events throughout the community.




President-Elect
Natasha Hall


Natasha Hall has accepted the position as President Elect for 2022/President 2023-2024 for FWHR. She has  been an active member since 2016, served the FWHR in various board positions, and participated in many planning committees for the association's events and learning opportunities. She is an Director of HR for AUI Partners, a construction company in Fort Worth, and has been with them for a total of 10 years. Her experience and background is multifaceted like many of our members, but is a true generalist at heart! She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus on HR and a SHRM-SCP certification. She initially joined FWHR to network and meet other like-minded HR professionals. She initially felt overwhelmed like many of the new members, but quickly connected with others at events. The rest is history!

Natasha is a busy mother of two boys (a 7 and 16 year old) and loves spending time with family and friends. She is energized by meeting new people, making every interaction meaningful, and helping others. Her wish is for any non-member reading this, to become a member and utilize this community as a resource to learn and network with the 500+ members and valued sponsors/partners. "Never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about how FWHR can help you. Our board members are all volunteers, and we all have a passion to help others."



Treasurer
Eli Hernandez 

Eli Hernandez leads the HR and organization development department for Purdy Group USA, an auto group that operates Toyota franchises throughout the state of Texas. In this role, Eli partners with company leadership to drive culture, ensure high levels of employee engagement, and challenge the organization to continuously improve.

Prior to working with Purdy Group, he has worked in various industries, including: retail, staffing, and healthcare. Eli received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master of science degree in Human Resources Management from Tarleton State University.

Eli is passionate about helping people, growing organizations, and having fun while doing it.




Secretary
Allison Johnson

Allison R. Johnson, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP, CCC has been a member of FWHR, SHRM and World at Work for many years. She has held several board and committee positions within the community. She has over fifteen years of experience in HR and provides leadership expertise within all facets of HR including talent acquisition, HR Operations, HR Systems, Total Rewards, Mergers and Acquisitions and much more.

She was born and raised in Fort Worth and is a proud contributor and supporter of Cowtown! She wanted to join the board so she could be more involved in the Fort Worth community. She believes joining a board can offer the best networking, knowledge expansion and local support to members. Her suggestions to others would be " Just say "yes" to any opportunity." She knows life gets too busy but suggests you try something new and out of your comfort zone. She juggles a career and a young family but is making time to do new things and meet new people.

Fun facts: Her husband is a CHRO in Fort Worth so they are an HR family (although, he's got much better stories). She received her MBA from University of Texas at Arlington and her B.S. in Social Science from Texas Wesleyan. She has several HR certifications as well. She has a 32 year old son, a 10 year old son, a seven year old son and a 4 year old daughter. Similar to you, she is a professional chaos coordinator! HR has been a perfect fit for her. She loves helping people manage their career, life goals and watching them succeed.



Membership Co-Director
Zulema Arriaga

Zulema Arriaga joined FWHR in 2018 when current President, Laura Bustamante, was the Director of Sponsorships. She has been a member since then and has enjoyed attending events while attaining credits for her SHRM-CP certification. She is an HR Onboarding Navigator at Texas Health Resources and has previously worked as an HR Generalist for 5 years and a Recruiter for 2 years.

Her wish for future and returning members is to always work on their growth, both personally and professionally. There may be times where one takes precedence over the other and that is okay. "Always remember that the people you surround yourself with are your resources, so be sure to make good connections for that "hand" when you need it!".

When Zulema is not working, she loves to spend time with family and friends. Her 4 year old niece occupies a lot of her weekends with slumber parties and fun activities. She enjoys being a favorite Auntie! She considers herself a crafty person and will sometimes make paper flowers, shirts for the family, and DIY home projects. She and her husband enjoy eating out, going to football games when they can, (TCU and Cowboys), and spending time with her fur baby Lola. TCU alumni Go Frogs!

Michelle Loredo

Michelle Loredo is an HR Generalist and entered the industry in 2014. When she joined FWHR as a member, she wanted to grow her network and meet new professionals! When Natasha Hall, President Elect 2022 reached out to see if she was interested in joining the board, she couldn’t say no! The community has been such a beneficial tool for her and it was an opportunity she could not pass up!

Her wish for current members is tp make new connections with those that will always have their back. For potential members, she hopes they will reach out to her for more information. "There are so many benefits to being a member and it’s a great resource to get your certification credits!".


Michelle spends most of her spare time with her husband and daughter creating memories. Fun fact: she is a certified Spanish interpreter!

Danielle Snailer

Danielle Snailer has served on the FWHR board since 2018. She is the HR Generalist at First Rate, Inc. since 2008. She is passionate about teaching and developing employees, and wants to encourage others to grow and learn in their HR profession

Her wish for members is for them to get involved with this dedicated, fun loving group of warm professionals. "You know you can lean on your FWHR board members for all your needs!".

Danielle is an  Alumni of University of Texas at Arlington ad a mother of a medical student. In her spare time, she enjoys making greeting cards and painting. 



Legal and Legislative Director
Julia Gannaway

Julia Gannaway is a partner in the law firm of Ross | Gannaway, PLLC. Her practice is dedicated largely to employment in the public sector, and the firm represents only employers. Julia is a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M with an economic degree and obtained her J.D. from the University of Houston in 1994. She is a member of the Texas City Attorney’s Association and the Texas Bar College. She also is a regular speaker for various employer organizations around Texas.

Julia wanted to join the Board to continue bringing relevant and informative speakers to the Legal Hour to assist FWHR professionals in understanding how the law affects their profession. Julia is an instructor at heart and being a part of the FWHR Board allows her to bring her employment law knowledge to the organization through different means of instruction like the Legal Minute or the Employment Law Update (ELU).

Julia wishes for members and potential members to grow in their professional development and familiarity with how the law impacts not only the workplace, but our lives!

When Julia is not giving legal advice about pay issues or conducting employer investigations, you can find her tailgating at the Aggie football game (her alma mater) with her husband or reading a new sci-fi book.

Conference Director
Joni Lui






Joni Lui, PHR, CIR is serving her second year as the Conferences Director, overseeing two annual conferences; Employment Law Update and The Strategic Mindset. She joined the board to better serve the HR community and wanted the opportunity to work with many talented individuals who she can learn from. 

She is a People & Culture Sr. Coordinator at Big Fish Games, a Seattle-based casual mobile gaming organization.  She assists the scaling of People & Culture operations for a global and remote workforce. Fostering a sense of belonging and culture, engagement, DEI, and process improvement are her main focuses.

Joni was born and raised in Toronto, Canada until she moved to Fort Worth in 2016. She was a former event photographer and fine art project manager. She enjoys traveling, contemporary art, board games, and spending time with her husband and long-haired dachshund, Tofu. 



Emerging Professionals Director
Kenya Wilson

Kenya Wilson is the Director of Emerging Professionals, and it is her first position with the board. She hopes her to serve emerging HR professionals by connecting them with the resources needed to help them excel in their careers. "FWHR is a great opportunity to learn and connect with a diverse group of professionals in the industry. I wish you the best as you connect and learn with the talented professionals in this organization!"

She currently works in Higher Education as a Department Chair and Human Resources Management faculty member at Tarrant County College. She developed their Human Resources Management degree programs and certificates. Her relevant background includes Organizational Development, Staff and Talent Development, and Learning and Development.

Kenya is originally from Wichita, KS and attended Wichita State University & Friends University. She enjoys dancing and has taken hip hop, jazz, and belly dancing classes. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her two children who are 13 and 5 years old.

Isaac Stolar

Isaac Stolar is a Retirement Plan Consultant within Gallagher’s Benefits and HR Consulting division. Isaac joined Gallagher in June 2019. He began his career in financial services with Fidelity Investments in 2012 and has since gained experience that encompasses all areas of the employee benefits industry. Prior to joining Gallagher, Isaac worked as Vice President of Retirement Business Business Development for PNC Bank.

Isaac is a graduate of Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, has completed the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) certification through Fi360 and has been a board member of Fort Worth HR since 2019. He works closely with HR leaders every day and serves on the board of FWHR to support the development and professional growth of its members. Aside from working and volunteering, Isaac enjoys Barbecuing, being outdoors with his dogs, and spending time with his wife and son.

Leila Peeples

Leila Peeples is the Chief HR Officer for Medstar Mobile Healthcare with over 20 years of HR experience.

She joined FWHR to increase her network of HR professionals. Then, she joined the board to support the broader network of HR by providing avenues for members to connect and network with each other. 

Her wish for current and future members is to have them meet new people, make connections, and gain new friendships.

Leila enjoys reading and diamond painting. She is a married mother of four children.

Community Relations Director
Jason Zantjer

Jason Zantjer is a Senior Associate at Alera Group Texas. With over 10 years of HR Experience in the mid-market sector, he currently helps his clients find the right mix of health & wellness benefits that will help attract and retain the right mix of employees.

Jason is passionate about making communities better and there's no better place to start then here in Fort Worth. As a former HR professional in a department of one, he wanted to make sure the next generation of HR professionals have the correct resources to move forward in their careers. Getting plugged into this chapter is step one in that process.

He is a proud North Texas grad with Nebraska roots. He just hit the 10 year milestone with his wife Melanie and is a father to two daughters, Lyla & Ivy. He coaches youth lacrosse, can’t swim well, and is a diehard Rangers fan. 


JOB DESCRIPTION BRIEFS

Each board member has different responsibilities.  Here’s a quick rundown to get you familiar with the Board’s duties.

President:  Provides leadership to the local chapter consistent with local, TXSHRM and SHRM policy strategies and objectives.  Effectively operates the chapter so that the needs of the members are met.  Performs other duties as required by the local chapter's bylaws.  Serves as a voting member of the TXSHRM state council.

President Elect:  Assists the president in overseeing all the activities of the chapter.  Oversees FWHR’s Professional Emphasis Groups, or PEGs.  In the absence of the president, perform all the presidential responsibilities.

Immediate Past President:  Advises the president and other officers and members of the board of directors regarding past practices, general operations, and other matters to assist in the smooth operation of the chapter.  Oversees FWHR’s Professional Emphasis Groups, or PEGs.

Treasurer:  Acts as financial officer and advisor to chapter board of directors.  Maintains the chapter mailbox and distributes mail to the appropriate officer, director, or chair.  Sends dues notices and other invoices to members.  Files appropriate forms and information with IRS.  Collects funds and monitors attendance at luncheons and oversees collection of donated monies.

Secretary:  Records the minutes of chapter meetings, provides notice of meetings and general correspondence.  Maintains chapter records and history.

Certifications Director Manage the chapter’s certification study program.  Encourage members to become certified and recertified.  Increase the number of chapter members who are certified PHR, SPHR, and GPHR by the HR Certification Institute, and members who are SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP by the Society for Human Resources Management.

Community Relations Director Manages the chapter’s community outreach efforts to organizations whose interests align with FWHR.  Oversees existing community service relationships such as Diamond Hill Elementary, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and Women’s Shelter.

Conferences Director:  Secures conference locations for FWHR conferences.  Manages the activities of the conference committee and printer to provide conference programs for FWHR members.  Welcomes conference attendees and speaks publicly throughout the conferences as part of the program.

Emerging HR Professionals Director Manages the scholarship program, internship program, and college outreach efforts.

Events Director Secures locations for monthly meetings and other entertainment venues.  Checks in and manages attendees at monthly meetings and other entertainment events.

Legal and Legislative Director:  Monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis pending legislative, regulatory and legal action at the federal, state, and local level that may have an impact on the profession and management of human resources.  Present a legislative report or update to the chapter at meetings and supervises the FWHR Legal Hour speakers.

Marketing Director: Oversees and manages the marketing and public relations activities of the chapter.  Concentrates on FWHR branding and manages the social media accounts outlets.  Coordinates with firms that can further illuminate FWHR to the community.  Helps market and advertise the FWHR newsletter, which provides timely and comprehensive information to chapter members about programs, workshops, and other matters of interest via chapter newsletter.

Membership Director Manages the membership function to successfully achieve an increase in chapter membership.  Maintains the chapter’s membership database to produce an annual membership roster and applicable addendums.

Programs Director Contacts potential speakers and makes arrangements for chapter meetings.  Secures speaker presentation material for members to access freely.

Sponsorship Director:  Identifies and secures sponsors for chapter meetings and events who are willing to assist the chapter financially in return for an opportunity to promote their product or service to members. Conduct benchmarking and networking activities necessary for creating a viable sponsor program.
